Otaku Shopping in London - Tokyo Toys

Continuing the ‘Otaku Shopping in London’ series, I will today be looking at Tokyo Toys…

Tokyo Toys started off as an online store for all things otaku, and a few months ago they opened a physical store in the London Trocadero. If I remember correctly it was on the top floor at the back (the front being the side you enter from the Leicester Square direction).

Below is a collection of images from the trip, click the thumbnails to see a full size view:

The London Trocadero:

Tokyo Toys:

Gunpla and anime figures:

More anime figures:

Smaller figures:

Anime keychains and other merchandise:

Plushies:

T-Shirts (including some from Terra Tag), and wall scrolls in the background:

Internet café at back of store:

Anime DVDs and Manga:

Overall I was very happy with Tokyo Toys. They have a wide selection of merchandise, an Internet café if you want to hang out, and the staff were very friendly when I spoke with them.

The London Trocadero is located at: 13 Coventry St, London, UK

How are stores for otaku in your area?

  1. That’s awesome… Too bad in my area, Otaku Stores are non-existent.

though I’m Canadian, these kind of stores don’t exist here neither or I really never looked in alley ways. ^_^

    And Dark… 2 questions…

1.) Were the t-shirts cheaper than Terra Tag?

    2.) What did you buy?

The t-shirts were officially £1 cheaper, although since I got a discount at Terra Tag, not really. Bought myself a Haruhi wall scroll ^^.

This is interesting and good to know as I might be going to London next week ^^. Thanks for the help lol, thought I would be deprived of anime throughout the whole trip ;p, j/k. I would actually enjoy walking around London and can stave off anime for a while, I have my zen with me to play anime if my case ever becomes severe enough.

I wonder if they have a shop specialized in selling novelty objects like a big stuffed mushroom from mario or a giant stuffed apple
