Delay: Dragonball Movie Will Not Meet August Release Date

401.jpgAccording to ComingSoon.net (via ANN), Twentieth Century FOX - the company producing the Live Action Dragonball movie - has delayed the theatrical release of their adaption of Akira Toriyama’s popular manga until April 3, 2009 - 9 months later than their intial projected release date of August 15, 2008.

Hopefully, this delay is a good thing and will provide FOX an opportunity to work to produce a decent Live Action adaption that will hopefully go over better than Dragonball: The Magic Begins.

We will continue to provide coverage of the details surrounding the production of Dragonball.

This doesn’t surprise me at all. I think they were way too optimistic to say that they would release it in August, since they only started filming recently.

…which means that Fox can already see how much this movie of Dragonball they’re making will suck, so they moved it 8 months back out of the competition from the good movies, hoping that no good movies will come out at that period to make things worse in the light of the international boycott over this movie

Isn’t it the opposite Msotaun, FOX pushed it back to make sure everything is done well, if they didn’t care about the movie they would have left the August date and made everything fast and cheap.

But for the least, I hope some trailers are made available in the future to see if the movie can live up to its name.

If there’s anything regarding this movie that Fox wants done right, it will only be the publicity and the special effects, for which the purpose is simply to fool the ignorant to pay for a movie ticket, exactly why they chose to move the release to a date when there will not be a lot of competition
